Strizh High-Speed Train | Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod
Today we have a very special video for you! Here's a fresh review of the high-speed train "Strizh" from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod.
This is a great alternative to an airplane on this route. Three and a half hours pass quickly in comfortable chairs. "Strizh" is a Spanish train Talgo 250 modified for Russia. These trains run for example between Barcelona and Madrid. And before the pandemic, you could take the “Strizh” from Moscow to Berlin.
The train does not hide its Iberian origin. Pay attention to the name of the cooler when you go to pour yourself some water. You can totally picture that you are not traveling between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, but from Valencia to Alicante.
Disadvantages though include poor Wi-Fi connection and food in the dining car. We would not advise you to spend money on the train for lunch, it is better to just take something with you, or save some money and have lunch in Nizhny Novgorod.
